Raina is known as 'Chinna Thala' in Chennai due to his association with CSK franchise in IPL.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) players are getting ready for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 in Chennai. They are the only franchise to have set up a camp ahead of the IPL 13 in India.
The heat of Chennai is not easy to adjust and Suresh Raina is dealing with it with the help of rasam and curd rice. The southpaw has now got experience of playing in these conditions.
Not only Raina has battled the humid conditions at Chepauk, but he has also succeeded in smashing a hundred in Chennai summer at 4 pm. His hundred in 2013 came against Kings XI Punjab when he added 100 off just 53 deliveries.
"I watched that inning recently. Everyone was talking about the heat, but you know how MS (Dhoni) is. He doesn't' talk all that," Raina said while talking to Harsha Bhogle for Cricbuzz.
"There was a lot of humidity there, but I said whenever there is a difficult situation I will be the first person to stand up and say let's do it."

Raina said rasam rice and curd rice helps him to stay inflow in these tough conditions. He also jokingly credited the food for his knock against KXIP.
"Heat is definitely there and if you play in the heat it will be there in the head. You need to just have Rasam rice and Curd rice!
"Because the situation is like that. You can't have proper food like what we eat at home (in north India) because you have to go with the flow. You have to see the humidity and hydrate yourself. That way I really really planned each and everything because I know how to look after my diet, I know how to be more professional because the game demands that.
"I think rasam rice and curd rice gave me that knock," he laughed.
