England and Australia's IPL-bound players won’t be seen in action in the first week of the T20 league after it was announced that the two teams will play a limited-overs series, comprised of three T20Is and three ODIs, from 4-16 September.

The T20Is will be played on September 4, 6 and 8 in Southampton followed by ODIs on September 11, 13 and 16 in Manchester.

On the other hand, the 13th edition of Indian Premier League is slated to start on September 19 in UAE.

The latest that the English and Aussie players can reach UAE is on 17 or 18 September and as per the IPL SOP, they will be quarantined for six days with RT-PCR tests on days 1, 3, and 6. On the seventh day, they will be entering the bio-secure bubble given that their tests return negative on all three occasions.

Therefore, none of the players will be available for selection in the initial 2-3 games of their respective franchises.
