The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was supposed to begin from March 29 with CSK taking on defending champions MI in Wankhede. But the Coronavirus outbreak brought everything to a screeching halt and the BCCI had to postpone the tournament until a suitable date.

After months of lockdown and uncertainty, the BCCI finally revealed that the IPL 2020 will be played in UAE from September 19- November 8, after the ICC postponed the T20 World Cup in Australia. Primary venue India was ruled out due to rising COVID-19 cases, but UAE provided a better alternative.

"Love spending time in MS Dhoni's room," says CSK's Imran Tahir

An official announcement will be made by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) soon. The IPL Governing Council will meet within a week to discuss the next steps, subject to government approval for hosting the tournament in the UAE.

Former India and Chennai Super Kings batsman Subramanian Badrinath said IPL 2020 going ahead in September-November window is 'very good news' for the sport.

Meanwhile, Indian badminton star Kidambi Srikanth was excited for the return of Thala MS Dhoni when IPL 2020 commences. "Great to know #IPL2020 is happening. I'm excited and looking forward to see @msdhoni play again,” he tweeted.

All this means is that the fans of Chennai Super Kings are excited for the return of captain MS Dhoni, who has not played any cricket since World Cup 2019.
