In a Twitter post that has now been deleted, Dr. Madhu had taken a jibe at 'PM Cares' in the aftermath of India-China military clash at the Galwan valley.

The distasteful tweet drew flak from several people on the social media platform.

India and China on Monday (June 15) evening engaged in their first deadly conflict in at least 45 years, resulting in 20 Indian Army personnel being martyred.

The official Twitter handle of CSK clarified that they were not aware of the tweet by Dr. Madhu, while admitting it was really in bad taste.

“The Chennai Super Kings Management was not aware of the personal tweet of Dr. Madhu Thottappillil. He has been suspended from his position as the Team Doctor. Chennai Super Kings regrets his tweet which was without the knowledge of the Management and in bad taste,” the franchise tweeted.

Dr. Madhu Thottappillil had been the official team doctor for CSK since the inception of the IPL in 2008.
