The former India captain has overseen great success as leader of Chennai Super Kings.
Hussey, having seen a lot of Dhoni from close quarters, internationally and during the IPL, talked up the man's strengths as a captain both on and off the field.

"One of his great ability is he will not take on defeat for too long. Yes, he will be disappointed like everyone, but he will get over quickly and look over to the next match and that is a great trait to have," Hussey said in a videocast hosted by ESPNCricinfo.
"Ricky Ponting was similar too, whether he was going well or going poorly. A consistent character and not someone like a yo-yo, going up and down, riding emotions all the time. He would be level the whole time, a trait you notice in great players."
Dhoni remains calmer than anyone else; with him, players can expect clarity and consistency with regards to plans and team selection, which is one of the secrets to his success as a skipper.
Under him, CSK has won three IPL titles and reached play-offs more often than anyone else. This, despite the man not always captaining line-ups expected to go the distance. Like in 2018, where CSK lifted the trophy when even its biggest supporters would've doubted the chances of that happening, considering the team's strengths and weaknesses. But Dhoni is a walking miracle.
He would've been hoping to show off his class once again as a leader during the league's 13th edition this year. But unfortunately, it remains suspended because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
