Hetmyer was overjoyed after Delhi got him in the IPL auction.
West Indies explosive batsman Shimron Hetmyer couldn't control his happiness after being picked by Delhi Capitals at INR 7.75 crore. He was released by Royal Challengers Bangalore for the auction this year.
Not to forget, Hetmyer recently played a 139-run innings against India in the ongoing ODI series which probably played a big role for him. It wasn't easy for Delhi to get Hetmyer. Apart from them, Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders went after the star Caribbean batsman.

Coming at a base price of just INR 50 lacs, his price reached Rs 7.75 crore. Hetmyer was delighted with the news. He got a call from Delhi Capitals and they asked him to record and share a message for DC fans. After a few minutes, Shimron shared a video of him dancing and DC posted it on Twitter for the fans.
"We were looking for an X-factor. We went for Glenn Maxwell and we went for a particular limit, but couldn't go beyond that. Hetmyer is someone who can come and change the game for us in a span of few overs," Delhi Capitals Chairman Parth Jindal said at the auction.
