Australia pacer Mitchell Starc has decided against participating in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the second successive season.

The left-arm quick last played an IPL game in the 2015 season when he represented the Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

In the 2018 IPL auction, Starc had been signed by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for Rs 9.4 crore but he was unavailable for the entire edition due to leg injury.

Earlier this year, Starc was recovering from injury ahead of the IPL 2019 auction and had opted out to give priority to Australia's World Cup campaign and the subsequent Ashes series.

Starc has been in superb form lately. The 29-year-old finished the World Cup in England and Wales as the highest wicket-taker and also spearheaded Pakistan's collapse in the recently concluded Test series Down Under.

No wonder, Indian fans were left disappointed on hearing the news of Starc pulling out from the IPL 2020 auction.
