The IPL 2018 auction was a mega auction and a two-day affair.
As per a report in ESPNCricinfo, the auction for IPL 12 will take place on December 16 in Goa.
This will be a rather small auction instead of a mega auction we saw for IPL 11, as the franchise already have many players on the roster and they will just fill the slots for the players which they will release.
In comparison to the IPL 11’s two-day mega affair auction, the IPL12 auction is most likely to be a one-day affair. In the previous auction in 2018, Ben Stokes had emerged out to the costliest player as he was bought by Rajasthan Royals for an amount of Rs 12.5 Crores.
In other news, ESPNCricinfo also reported that Mumbai Indians had brought Royal Challengers Bangalore wicketkeeper-opener Quinton de Kock of South Africa in the trade window. The report also revealed that three-time champions MI also released Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman and Sri Lankan spinner Akila Dananjaya from their squad.
