Five-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have parted ways with their long-serving batting coach, Michael Hussey, and bowling coach Eric Simons. Hussey, one of the most successful batters in the league, spent numerous years with CSK as a batter.

After his playing days ended, Hussey joined the CSK franchise as the batting coach in IPL 2018 and has held the role ever since. Nevertheless, after splitting with Stephen Fleming earlier this year and bringing in former India pacer Zaheer Khan as his replacement, CSK has now chosen to part ways with Hussey by mutual agreement as well.

“From the very first season in 2008, you have been an integral part of the Chennai Super Kings family. Your journey in Yellow has been defined not just by the runs you scored and the players you mentored, but by the dedication, humility, and unwavering commitment you brought to this franchise over the years. Your place in our history will forever remain special, Hussmeister. Once a Super King, always a Super King,” CSK shared a goodbye message for Hussey.

Along with the appointment of Mohit Sharma as the new bowling coach of the CSK franchise, the team management has also parted ways with Eric Simons. The ex-South African pacer was also involved with the Gary Kirsten-led Team India coaching staff that had won the 2011 World Cup.

“An integral part of the Chennai Super Kings coaching setup since 2018, Eric Simons has played an important role in shaping our bowling unit and contributing to the team's success over the years. We extend our sincere gratitude for your dedicated service and contributions. Thank you, Eric Simons. Wishing you the very best in your future endeavors," CSK posted on social media.

Simons and Hussey were not the only CSK support staff who bid farewell to the franchise; Rajiv Kumar, the fielding coach, Tommy Simsek, the long-term physio, and Greg King, strength and conditioning coach, have also parted ways with the team.
