Chennai Super Kings (CSK), five-time IPL champions, have parted ways with their long-serving head coach Stephen Fleming. Fleming had joined the CSK franchise, first as a player in 2008 and then became their head coach from IPL 2009 onwards.

The combination of Stephen Fleming and MS Dhoni went on to win five IPL titles and two Champions League T20 titles for CSK.

A significant decision about the entire coaching staff may potentially be made while trade talks are in progress. Key decisions have been overseen by Rupa Gurunath, a full-time director of Chennai Super Kings Cricket Limited (CSKCL) and the daughter of N Srinivasan.

"Stephen Fleming has been the heartbeat of our coaching unit for almost the entire journey of this franchise. For nearly two decades, he has helped shape our identity, vision, and pursuit of excellence. On behalf of everyone at the Super Kings franchise, we extend our deepest gratitude for his unwavering commitment, passion, and leadership. While our journey together on the field comes to a close, he will always remain an integral part of the team's legacy,Rupa was quoted in a CSK press release.

Times of India report stated that former Tamil Nadu and India batter and Delhi Capitals head coach Hemang Badani is in the running to join the CSK set-up. DC finished fifth and sixth under Badani in the 2025 and 2026 seasons, respectively, narrowly missing out on a playoff spot in his first season.

The franchise's top brass is currently in Dallas, reviewing the last few seasons and planning the future.

As the team seeks to reclaim its former grandeur, CSK may have to make difficult choices in the upcoming weeks regarding trades, the coaching staff, and perhaps the captaincy.
