Delhi Capitals (DC) co-owner Parth Jindal welcomed Rishabh Pant back into the fold after he was traded in for Kuldeep Yadav, who was given to Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).

The wicketkeeper batter had become the most expensive player in IPL history when LSG acquired his services for a massive Rs 27 crore at the 2025 mega auction. However, Rishabh Pant lowered his price to a much more manageable price of INR 15 crores to allow LSG to trade him to DC.

On the other hand, LSG will pay INR 13.25 crores for getting Kuldeep Yadav’s services from DC.

Pant hinted at his departure by resigning as LSG captain even before IPL 2026 ended. Under his leadership, LSG failed to make an impact in either of the two seasons, and this year's most recent season concluded with a bottom-of-the-table result.

Pant scored just 312 runs in 14 games in 2026, including one half-century; the year before, he had only 269 runs, including a century in the last game. He led the team in 28 games over two seasons, winning only ten of them.

DC co-owner Parth Jindal welcomed Pant with a heartfelt message on social media.

Dear Kuldeep, thank you for your service over the last 5 years @DelhiCapitals you have been a core part of our team and you will be sorely missed. Go well - you are a champion player and i am sure you will do extremely well back in your home ground. Rishabh - Kiran and I are both happy to have you back at DC. Hope you can find your best form back home in Delhi. @IPL,Jindal posted on X.

Former Australian batter and IPL-winning captain David Warner responded to that post with a few thought-provoking remarks that sparked online conversation.

He shared laughing emojis and also shared a message reading: “It was always going to happen. Auctions can get out of hand, and if there is a dip in form and one owner wants to get rid of you while the other wanted you but was unfortunately outbid, you can bide your time.”

Fans were intrigued by Warner’s reaction to Parth Jindal welcoming back Rishabh Pant to the Delhi Capitals and reacted on social media.
