Gujarat Titans (GT) assistant coach Parthiv Patel hit back at Tom Moody's assessment regarding the franchise's bowling on flat tracks, stating that their process works for them and pointing out that the team successfully secured a top-two finish on the IPL 2026 points table.

Speaking to ESPNCricinfo, LSG’s director of cricket recently claimed that the Titans pacers, including Kagiso Rabada and Mohammed Siraj, become very predictable and vulnerable when there is no movement on offer.

“They don’t have the real extreme change-ups of pace and variety," Moody said. “They do become predictable for that. It’s a bit like Sunrisers [Hyderabad]. As soon as the Sunrisers are put on a surface that’s doing a bit, that batting line-up really struggles. So, it’s the complete opposite."

Addressing the media on the eve of their Qualifier 2 clash, Parthiv argued that the team has established its own unique, successful style of play.

He acknowledged that even during rough patches, GT have remained unfazed and trust their processes, noting that they know exactly how to get results.

“We were sitting pretty at number 2 in the points table. I know other teams can think whatever they want to. 6 teams have not qualified, and I know that the references which you have come from, that I know Tom Moody has said about GT," Parthiv told reporters.

“But see, we have finished number 2. And we know what kind of cricket we want to play. And we back ourselves to give results."

“Since GT’s inception, four out of five years, we have qualified. Results are there for everyone to see. Everybody has their own different way of playing. We have our own style of playing. Even in the first half of the tournament, we were not doing that great. We were just doing okay."

“But we still stuck to our process. We trust in our ability. We know what we can do. And that is something which we will try to do tomorrow as well," he added.

Gujarat Titans lost to Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 92 runs in the IPL 2026 Qualifier 1 in Dharamsala on Tuesday (May 26).

Having finished second on the league table, the Shubman Gill-led side will get another chance to seal a place in the final as they will face Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 2 on Friday (May 29) in New Chandigarh.
