RR defeated SRH by 47 runs in the Eliminator game, thanks to Sooryavanshi's 97 in 29 balls.
RR posted 243/8 in 20 overs, thanks to Sooryavanshi’s blistering innings that contained 12 sixes and 5 fours. Dhruv Jurel made 50, Yashasvi Jaiswal (29) and Riyan Parag (26) made big contributions as well.
In response, though Ishan Kishan’s 11-ball 33 got SRH off to a flyer, SRH batting collapsed after his and Travis Head’s wicket, while Abhishek Sharma was dismissed for a duck in the first over itself. Nitish Reddy (38) and Salil Arora (35) tried their best for SRH, but they only managed 196 runs.
RR won the game by 47 runs and qualified for Qualifier 2, where they will face Gujarat Titans on May 29. The winner of this game will face RCB in the final of IPL 2026 on May 31 in Ahmedabad.
Sooryavanshi, apart from his innocence and destructive ability with the bat, has also displayed humility and respect for games’ legends, earning him huge praise from fans and the cricket community.
Ahead of the RR v SRH Eliminator game, Sooryavanshi was seen approaching Sunil Gavaskar and Sanjay Bangar and touched their feet to get their blessings. Presenter Jatin Sapru was also present, and when Vaibhav tried to touch his feet, Sapru had to jump to avoid the gesture and blessed him anyway.
