Mumbai Indians owner Nita Ambani was left embarrassed and in splits after a student at the Dhirubhai Ambani International School took a witty dig at MI’s poor IPL 2026, while giving a speech at their convocation ceremony.

Mumbai Indians finished in 9th spot in the IPL 2026 tournament, after they lost their final league game to Rajasthan Royals on May 24 in Mumbai. This marked the second time in the last three seasons that MI have failed to make it into the playoffs of the Indian Premier League.

MI’s performance in the IPL 2026 led to a lighthearted moment during a ceremony at the Dhirubhai Ambani International School. The head boy took the stage to reflect on their journey and share the memories, friendships, and experiences that defined their time at the school.

While speaking about life ahead, he joked, “Just like our beloved Mumbai Indians, there will be tough seasons.”

As soon as he spoke these words, laughter rang around the auditorium, and everyone, including Nita Ambani, who was sitting on the dais, was left in splits. Ambani even hid her face in embarrassment while laughing at the student’s witty remark.

Continuing his address, the student said, “Seasons where nothing seems to go right, where the results do not reflect the effort, where you question everything. But if there is one thing this franchise has taught all of us, it’s that you never forget who you are. You never forget your legacy, and you never forget the people standing in your corner.”

He wrapped up his speech with MI’s slogan: “Always remember Duniya Hila Denge Hum.”
