Arjun Tendulkar finally got to play his first game in IPL 2026, as he made his Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) debut against Punjab Kings (PBKS) on May 23 in Lucknow. Though LSG lost the game by 7 wickets, Arjun Tendulkar’s performance was praised by his father, Sachin Tendulkar, and sister Sara Tendulkar.

Arjun grabbed his first IPL wicket for LSG with a fast yorker, finishing with stats of 1/36 from his four overs. Despite the strain of making his debut in a high-scoring match, the left-arm pacer also impressed with his poise.

Sara Tendulkar posted an emotional tribute to her younger brother Arjun on Instagram.

You deserve the world, my little brother. So, so, so proud of your hard work, your ability to handle pressure, and your patience through it all. Love you forever and always (and some more)," Sara posted on Instagram.

On the other hand, Arjun's endurance and tolerance throughout the long wait until the team's last league-stage match were commended by his father, Sachin Tendulkar. He also talked about how Arjun overcame the psychological difficulties of the sport and urged him to continue having fun.

“Well done, Arjun. Proud of the way you’ve carried yourself through this season, always believing in your ability, staying patient, working hard quietly, and remaining positive despite having to wait for your opportunity till the very last match. Cricket tests patience as much as skill, and you handled both beautifully today. Keep your feet on the ground, and continue being in love with the game like you always have. Love you always," Sachin posted on social media.

The match also represented a watershed event in Arjun's career, as IPL 2026 marks his first season away from the Mumbai Indians after being traded to Lucknow prior to the auction.
