Gujarat Titans moved to 2nd spot in points table with 18 points in 14 games with 9 wins.
Sai Sudharsan was the best batter for GT, scoring 84 with 7 fours and 4 sixes, while Shubman Gill made 64 with 7 fours and 3 sixes. Together, Sai and Gill added 125 runs in 12.2 overs for the first wicket. Jos Buttler then smacked 57* in 27 balls with 5 fours and 4 sixes and powered GT to 229/4 in 20 overs.
Mohammed Siraj gave GT the perfect start when he dismissed Sanju Samson on the first ball of the CSK innings. Matthew Short (24), Ruturaj Gaikwad (16), Urvil Patel (0), Dewald Brevis (8) and Kartik Sharma (19) all fell in a short span of time.
Shivam Dube looked good for his 47 with 4 fours and 4 sixes, but his knock came to an end thanks to an amazing catch by Shubman Gill.
Rashid Khan bowled the 3rd ball of the 11th over a bit wide to Dube, who tried to hit it towards the long off side. However, the ball only got a leading edge, which traveled in the empty space between mid-off and long-off.
However, Shubman Gill ran quite a few meters backwards and dived at the last moment to catch the ball in superman fashion. He was so fired up that he even showed the ‘shush’ gesture to his own crowd in Ahmedabad.
