Mi have been eliminated from the race for IPL 2026 playoffs.
The match had a delayed start due to rain, and Ajinkya Rahane, KKR captain, won the toss and chose to bowl first. I found batting very hard on the surface after rain, as the ball swung and bounced, with moisture in the air and on the pitch.
The MI top order was destroyed badly as Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav both made fifty as they were reduced to 41/4 in 20 overs. Tilak Varma made 20 in 32, while Hardik Pandya made 26 in 27, as MI needed someone to score quickly.
Corbin Bosch stepped up and made 32* in 18 balls as he took MI to 147/8 in 20 overs. Saurabh Dubey, Cameron Green, and Kartik Tyagi took two wickets each, while Sunil Narine took 1/13 in 4 overs.
In response, Deepak Chahar removed Finn Allen for 8, and then Corbin Bosch dismissed captain Rahane for 21 runs and Cameron Green for 4. MI could’ve had their third wicket, as Hardik Pandya got Rovman Powell to play a false shot.
The ball went high in the air towards the mid-wicket boundary, where Deepak Chahar and Robin Minz both converged to take the skier. However, both kept looking at one another, and the ball fell in the middle of them both.
While Minz pointed towards Chahar, signaling that it was his catch, Chahar shot a fiery look at the youngster, and even captain Hardik Pandya was left fuming.

This reminded people of the infamous incident where Chris Gayle was dropped by Pakistan’s Shoaib Malik and Saeed Ajmal during an ODI in Abu Dhabi a decade back.
