Gujarat Titans (GT) hosted Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in a blockbuster IPL 2026 clash on May 12, 2026, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. SRH captain Pat Cummins won the toss and chose to bowl first.

Shubman Gill (5) and Jos Buttler (7) fell early, but Sai Sudharsan made 61 with 5 fours and 2 sixes to keep the GT innings alive. Nishant Sindhu made 22 runs to give him some support to stabilize the innings. However, it was Washington Sundar who hammered a very good fifty and propelled GT's total to some dignity.

He made 50 in 33 balls with 7 fours and one six as GT made 168/5 in 20 overs. Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain took two wickets each.

Sundar played some brilliant shots; scoring runs easily on a difficult pitch to bat on. His seven boundaries were awesome, but the best shot of the night was the lone six he hit.

The shot was hit on the final delivery of the 19th over, bowled by Eshan Malinga. The ball was a low full toss on the toes of Sundar; however, somehow the GT batter managed to get under the ball and swatted it over the mid-wicket boundary for a six, despite finding himself on the pitch on one knee.
