RCB moved to no.1 spot, while MI was eliminated from the race for playoffs in IPL 2026.
RCB captain Rajat Patidar won the toss and chose to bowl first. Naman Dhir proved to be the trump card, scoring 47 as Rohit Sharma (22) and Ryan Rickelton failed to give a good start. Suryakumar Yadav got out for a golden duck, but Tilak Varma (57) and Dhir guided MI towards a decent total.
Some push from the tail helped MI post 166/7 in 20 overs. RCB’s Bhuvneshwar Kumar starred with 4/23 with the ball.
In response, Virat Kohli got out for a golden duck, while Jacob Bethell scored 27. Rajat Patidar could manage only 8 runs, while Jitesh Sharma made 18. However, Krunal Pandya held onto one end and took RCB closer to the target.
He scored a brilliant 73 in 46 balls with 4 fours and five sixes. He got out at the wrong time, as RCB lost a few quick wickets and needed 15 runs in the last over. Romario Shepherd got out for 4 in 11 balls, leaving the tail to score 9 runs in 3 balls.
It was then Bhuvneshwar Kumar, facing his first ball, who hammered Raj Bawa for a six, and then Rasikh Salam scampered for two runs on the last ball, to give RCB a win by 2 wickets.
Virat Kohli was over the moon as RCB won the match, and celebrated aggressively, where he was seen jumping in the air and hugged Krunal Pandya.
