GT defeated RR by 77 runs in their recent IPL 2026 match in Jaipur.
Rajasthan Royals (RR) star Vaibhav Sooryavanshi met Jos Buttler of Gujarat Titans (GT) after the GT side demolished RR in Jaipur on May 9 in their IPL 2026 clash. RR had won the toss and decided to bowl first.
However, Sai Sudharsan scored 55 and contributed 118 runs for the first wicket with Shubman Gill. Jos Buttler immediately fell for 13 runs, but Gill went on to score 84 in 44 balls, with 9 fours and 3 sixes. Washington Sundar scored 37* in 20 balls, and Rahul Tewatia scored 14* in 4 balls as GT reached 229/4 in 20 overs.
In response, Ravindra Jadeja scored 38 and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi 36 as RR folded for 152 runs. GT won the game by 77 runs, moving to second place in the IPL 2026 points table.
In a touching exchange between the two players following the match, Gujarat Titans star Jos Buttler met Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, and the 15-year-old can be seen saying that he will ask Buttler for a bat. The Englishman was gracious enough to gift one of his bats to Sooryavanshi.
Then, in the video, someone told Sooryavanshi to get the bat signed by Buttler for memory. To this, Sooryavanshi replied that he wanted to play with the bat and hence was not getting it signed by the GT keeper-batter.
