After the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) defeated the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on May 6 in Lucknow, to stay alive in the race for the IPL 2026 playoffs.

Thanks to Mitchell Marsh’s 111 and quick contributions from Nicholas Pooran (38) and Rishabh Pant (36), LSG posted 209/3 in 20 overs. In response, Virat Kohli was handed a two-ball duck by Prince Yadav. Devdutt Padikkal (34) and Rajat Patidar (61) kept RCB in the game, while Tim David (40), Krunal Pandya (28*), and Romario Shepherd (23*) tried to take RCB to the win.

However, LSG managed to restrict RCB to 203/6 and win the game by 9 runs via the DLS method.

The highlight was Prince Yadav’s dismissal of Virat Kohli, who scored a duck in a chase for the first time in IPL since the 2017 edition, when KKR had bowled RCB out for 49. This was Kohli’s first duck in 1110 days in IPL, with his last duck coming in the 2023 IPL.

Kohli was spotted having a light conversation with Prince and the LSG bowling coach, Bharat Arun, after the LSG-RCB match at the Ekana on Thursday.

The former India and RCB captain was seen grinning and even placing his hand on the 24-year-old speedster's shoulders, appearing to praise him for bowling a fantastic delivery.

Kohli appears to have laid the groundwork for his defeat. After the match at the Chinnaswamy, Prince said that the great batter informed him exactly which spots to target when bowling, which he followed at the Ekana.

"After the last match I was talking to Virat bhaiya, and he only told me - as long as it's moving around off a length, stick to that length," Yadav told the broadcaster.
