In the high-profile clash against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium, Samson remained unbeaten on 101 off 54 balls, a knock featuring 10 fours and 6 sixes.
Samson notched up his three-figure mark on the last ball of the innings with a four off Krish Bhagat. This was his 5th career IPL century, moving him into joint-fourth place for most all-time IPL hundreds alongside KL Rahul. Thanks to his innings, CSK racked up a formidable total of 207/6 on the board.
After a stellar T20 World Cup 2026 where he was named Player of the Tournament, Sanju Samson has had a slow start for CSK, with scores of 6, 7 and 9 in his first three innings. The match against Delhi Capitals on April 11 marked his return to form as he smashed 115* off 56 balls to script CSK’s first win of the season.
Since then, Samson has been piling up runs consistently, with scores of 48, 7 and tonight’s century to his credit.
