Axar Patel suffered cramps when he was batting on 25 in DC's chase of RCB's 175.
With this victory, DC gained six points and moved up to fourth place in the IPL 2026 points table with three victories and two losses. With four victories and two defeats, RCB is in second place with eight points overall.
Asked to bat first, RCB managed just 175/8 in 20 overs, with wickets falling at regular intervals and Phil Salt (63 off 38 balls, with seven fours and three sixes) being the only significant contributor. Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, and Lungi Ngidi each claimed two wickets.
DC was reduced to 18/3 during the chase as a result of Bhuvneshwar Kumar's excellent opening spell. But Rahul's (57 off 34 balls, with six fours and two sixes) and Stubbs' (60* off 47 balls, with four fours and a six) half-centuries, along with Miller's last performance (22* off 10 balls, with one four and two sixes), led DC to an incredible victory.
However, Axar Patel’s innings came to a halt as he suffered cramps and was unable to continue batting. Axar decided to leave the field by retiring hurt, after consulting with the physio, when he was batting on 25.
Axar was being helped off the field by Ashutosh Sharma when a kind gesture by RCB’s Krunal Pandya won everyone’s hearts. Pandya decided to help give support to Axar and helped Ashutosh take the DC captain off the field, while the physio carried his bat and gear.
Delhi Capitals acknowledged Krunal Pandya’s gesture and posted on X: “Krunal, you have our respect!”
