DC chased down the target of 176 set by RCB with one delivery to spare.
Delhi Capitals (DC) returned to winning ways with a thrilling six-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Match 26 of the IPL 2026 season at Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday (April 18).
Invited to bat first, RCB posted 175/8 on the board. Phil Salt was the top scorer with 63 off 38 balls, while Tim David produced a handy cameo of 17-ball 26.
Axar Patel (2/18), Lungi Ngidi (2/39), and Kuldeep Yadav (2/32) were the pick of the DC bowlers, returning with two scalps each.
In reply, the Capitals were reduced to 18/3 inside first three overs with Pathum Nissanka (1), Karun Nair (5) and Sameer Rizvi (2) falling cheaply. Amid the pressure situation, KL Rahul added 69 runs for the fourth wicket with Tristan Stubbs to bail DC out of trouble.
While Rahul was dismissed for 57 off 34 balls, Stubbs (60* off 47) held the one end firmly and stitched crucial partnerships with Axar Patel (26 retired hurt) and David Miller (22* off 10) to take DC over the finishing line.
Needing 15 off the last over, Miller smashed Romario Shepherd for a couple of sixes and a four to seal the match with one delivery to spare.
This dramatic finish was notable as it provided redemption for Miller, who had just failed to win a similar thriller against Gujarat Titans earlier in the 2026 season. No wonder, the southpaw heaved a sigh of relief and had a smile on his face after guiding the Capitals home.
