Sanju Samson starred with a brilliant 115* for CSK.
While Sanju Samson produced some lovely strokes, Ruturaj Gaikwad battled, scoring 15 runs in 18 balls before being dismissed by Axar Patel. Samson was subsequently joined by Ayush Mhatre, and they counterattacked the DC bowlers, scoring 113 runs for the second wicket.
CSK retired out Mhatre for 59 in 36 balls, including three fours and four sixes, as they needed some quick runs. Meanwhile, Samson became IPL 19's first centurion, smashing 115* in 56 balls, with 15 fours and four sixes. Shivam Dube scored 20* in 10 balls, propelling CSK to 212/2 in 20 overs.
The Delhi Capitals started brilliantly, with KL Rahul scoring 18 and Pathum Nissanka hitting 41 in 24 balls. However, once their combination was broken, DC lost a number of wickets until David Miller (17) and Ashutosh Sharma (19) forged crucial partnerships with Tristan Stubbs.
The cricket fraternity was all praises for CSK’s performance with the ball and the bat in this win and shared their joy on social media.
