In a dramatic opening to the IPL 2026 match between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Jofra Archer dismissed Phil Salt for a golden duck on the very first ball.

The RR pace spearhead delivered a lightning-fast, steep bouncer on a hard length that angled in sharply toward the RCB opener.

Salt was completely hurried by the raw pace and excessive bounce. Attempting to sway out of the way, the ball struck the handle of his bat. The ball looped gently into the air, allowing wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel to complete a simple, regulation catch.

The early blow occurred immediately after rain delays in Guwahati, placing RR on the front foot early in the match. Jofra Archer also dismissed Devdutt Padikkal in the third over for 14 to reduce RCB to 45/2.
