LSG won the toss and chose to bat first against KKR at Eden Gardens.
Finn Allen and Ajinkya Rahane opened the innings for KKR, and while Finn Allen showed great intent and hit two fours, he was dismissed early.
His dismissal occurred in the second over of the KKR innings, when Allen managed a thick top edge off Prince Yadav's bowling. The ball looked to sail past the third-man boundary but was caught brilliantly by Rathi quite near the rope.
Although it appeared to be a close call, the umpires did not spend much time scrutinizing the fielder's foot, and the decision has sparked outrage on social media.

Several fans were not happy with the level of umpiring as they believed Rathi’s foot had touched the boundary paddling, and the umpire didn’t check the replays from other angles and rushed into the decision.
