RR moved to top spot in IPL 2026 points table with 6 points from three games.
RR opened with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, and they got to work from the first over. Deepak Chahar was tonked for 4 fours and one six by Jaiswal. Then Sooryavanshi welcomed Jasprit Bumrah with two sixes in one over.
Sooryavanshi continued his assault as he made 39 in 14 balls with 5 sixes and 1 four. Dhruv Jurel followed soon for 2 runs, while Riyan Parag contributed 20 runs in 10 balls. But it was Yashasvi Jaiswal, who continued his good form and hammered 77* in 32 balls with 10 fours and 4 sixes to his name as RR posted a mammoth 150/3 in 11 overs. Allah Ghazanfar picked 2/21 in 2 overs for MI.
In response, MI batters felt the pressure of scoring quickly from the get-go. Ryan Rickelton (8), Rohit Sharma (5), and Suryakumar Yadav (6) all fell going for big shots. RR bowlers were perfect in their line and length, and MI batters didn’t get many loose balls to pounce on.
Tilak Varma fell for 14 runs, and Hardik Pandya went for 9 runs as the asking rate climbed up in no time. Sherfane Rutherford and Naman Dhir made 25 each to reduce the margin of defeat and save some face for MI. In the end, MI managed 123/9 in 11 overs.
For RR, Nandre Burger, Sandeep Sharma, and Ravi Bishnoi picked two wickets each. RR won the game by 27 runs and went to the top of the IPL 2026 points table with six points from three wins in three games.
The cricket fraternity was all praises for the Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi combo as their explosive start enabled RR to bat MI out of the game.
