IPL 2026: WATCH- Hugely impressed Virat Kohli applauds Sarfaraz Khan for his heroics after his dismissal

RCB defeated CSK by 43 runs in Bengaluru.

Sarfaraz Khan proved to be the shining light in otherwise poor outing for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their recent IPL 2026 match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on April 5 in Bengaluru. It was a one-sided humiliation for the five-time IPL champions.

First, RCB posted 250/3 after being asked to bat first as Phil Salt made 46, Devdutt Padikkal made 50, Rajat Patidar made 48* and Tim David smashed 8 sixes in his 25-ball 70* knock. Then RCB bowlers blew away the CSK top order with Sanju Samson, Ayush Mhatre, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Kartik Sharma all falling for single-digit scores.

It was Sarfaraz Khan, who took the attack to RCB bowlers and smashed 50 in 25 balls with 8 fours and 2 sixes, to give CSK innings some respectability. He single-handedly revived CSK innings in powerplay before being stumped by Jitesh Sharma off Krunal Pandya, with his team on 77/4 in 6.1 overs.

As he walked back, Kohli could be seen screaming out to him above the roar of the Chinnaswamy crowd. When Sarfaraz turned, the RCB star applauded and gave him a thumbs up, recognizing the terrific knock.
