LSG will play their IPL 2026 opener against DC on April 1 in Lucknow.
Rishabh Pant, who was bought by LSG in the IPL 2025 auction for a record INR 27 crores, had a poor outing in the season, despite scoring a century towards the fag end of the tournament. He scored 269 runs at a strike rate of 133.18, and his captaincy also came under some criticism.
Rishabh Pant is having a tough time, having lost his place in the Indian white-ball team, with KL Rahul being the preferred wicketkeeper in ODIs and Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan in the wings in T20Is. Pant was part of the Champions Trophy 2025 win but didn’t get a game, while he was not picked in the recent Asia Cup 2025 and the T20 World Cup 2026 wins.
Before the IPL 2026, Rishabh Pant worked hard on his game with Yuvraj Singh, who has mentored the likes of Abhishek Sharma and India ODI and Test captain Shubman Gill.
Recently, LSG shared a video of Rishabh Pant batting in the nets, and in a funny moment, Pant lost the grip of his bat. The bat flew and got tangled on the roof of the net before falling back on Pant, who was unaware.
