RCB defeated SRH by 6 wickets in their IPL 2026 opening game.
RCB won the game by 6 wickets, as Virat Kohli’s unbeaten 69 and Devdutt Padikkal’s quick 61 helped them chase down the 202-run target with ease in 15.4 overs. Earlier, SRH had posted 201/9 in 20 overs, with Ishan Kishan scoring 80 in 38 balls.
Phil Salt failed to shine with the bat, but played a crucial role in RCB’s win in the field. He took three very good catches in the outfield, including two brilliant ones to send back Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen.
Dinesh Karthik, RCB's batting coach and mentor, did not include a picture of Salt's catches in his post-game social media post, sparking a funny response from the England batter.
Karthik uploaded a collage of RCB's top moments from the match, including photographs of three-wicket hero Jacob Duffy and Virat Kohli, Devdutt Padikkal, and Rajat Patidar, all of whom hammered fantastic runs to help them chase down a goal of 202 in just 15.4 overs. However, there was no photo of Salt.
"Nothing for the catch mastermind? Shame," posted Salt in response to Karthik's Instagram post.
But a few hours later, Karthik shared another post celebrating Salt’s catch with a creative twist.
RCB next takes on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Sunday, April 5.
