IPL 2026: WATCH - "Who are you? What are you?" Yograj Singh lashes out at R Ashwin over remarks on Arjun Tendulkar

Arjun Tendulkar’s prospects of making it into the LSG XI was questioned by Ashwin.

Former Indian cricketer Yograj Singh has launched a fierce verbal attack on veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin for his comments regarding Arjun Tendulkar's prospects of making it into the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) XI in the upcoming IPL season.

After an unproductive stint with Mumbai Indians (MI), Arjun was traded to LSG in the off-season, with Shardul Thakur moving the other way. He has appeared in five IPL games till now, claiming three scalps at an average of 38 and an economy rate of 9.37.

Sharing his thoughts on LSG’s probable XI for IPL 2026, Ashwin backed Mohammad Shami, Mohsin Khan and Avesh Khan as the frontline pacers, ruling out the possibility of Arjun featuring in the lineup.

"Arjun Tendulkar khelega hi nahi (Arjun Tendulkar won't play at all), and let's not even go there. I think it is very difficult because there are Mayank Yadav, Mohsin Khan, Avesh Khan, and Mohammad Shami in this lineup. There are so many fast bowlers. How will he play? I don't think he makes any case unless and until there are a lot of injuries," Ashwin said on his YouTube channel.

Ashwin's statement was not received well by Yograj, who has worked with Arjun Tendulkar in the past.

"He is talking bulls**t, this guy, Ashwin, whoever he is. He should know what to talk about somebody. Somebody's sitting on the television and talking,' Oh, he can't do this, he can't do that'. Who are you? What are you?" Yograj said while speaking to InsideSport.

Yograj continued his outburst, offering sharp critiques and insights based on his personal experience training Arjun.

"He is Sachin Tendulkar's son, that is a different story. When he was here, I told Yuvi, that all of you are concentrating wrong on Arjun Tendulkar. He is not a bowler, he had a spine problem, and his hands come down from 45 degree. When he was here, I was talking to him. I told his coach as well when he was with the Goa team," he added.

Yograj Singh concluded with a bold statement, challenging critics of Arjun Tendulkar while also aassering that he could transform the youngster into a world-class batter.

"If you can't do it. Send him to me, I challenge the whole world that if Arjun Tendulkar spends six months with me, he will surpass all the batters in this world. If not, I will cut off my beard and throw it," he remarked.
