RR will begin their IPL 2026 tournament against CSK in Guwahati on March 30.
Sooryavanshi had made his IPL debut for RR in IPL 2025 and impressed everyone by hitting his first ball in the league for a six. He also smashed a century against the Gujarat Titans in 35 balls and ended up with 252 runs in 7 matches with a strike rate of 206.55 with 18 fours and 24 sixes to his name.
The teenager was asked about his plans for the season, and Sooryavanshi went with the funny answer that made everyone in the room laugh. A reporter asked him about his goals for the IPL 2026 season.
“Aisa question bologe to main do-teen hazaar runs bol doonga,” Sooryavanshi stated, which made everyone in the room laugh, including his senior pro Ravindra Jadeja.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi moved away from the lighthearted line and provided a far more realistic response after the laughing subsided.
Sooryavanshi stated unequivocally that he had no set run goal for the 2026 IPL. Instead, he is concentrating on having faith in the process and assisting the Rajasthan Royals in their quest for the championship.
“Aisa kuch plan nahi kar sakta na ki mujhe itne run banana hai. Jo process hai wo follow kar rahe hain aur team ke liye trophy jeetna hai. Baaki personal goals pe aisa kuch focus nai hai. Bas hum log apne process pe dhyan de rahe hain aur accha karke ko dekh rahe hain is season,” he said.
Rajasthan Royals will open their IPL 2026 against Chennai Super Kings in Guwahati on March 30. RR will be captained by Riyan Parag, who takes over from Sanju Samson, who was traded to CSK before the IPL 2026 auction.
