Shreyas Iyer achieved the feat of hitting a century in all three international formats.
India captain Shreyas Iyer was the toast of Men in Blue’s victory in the first T20I of the five-game series against the West Indies. This game was played at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on October 6, 2026.
Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to bowl first. Windies captain Shai Hope made 52 off 37 balls, and Sherfane Rutherford, with 56 off 34 balls, helped the Men in Maroon make 171 runs in 19.1 overs. For India, Naman Dhir picked 3/31 on his debut, while Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel picked two wickets each.
In response, after Abhishek Sharma (21) got out in trying to give a flying start, Ishan Kishan anchored one end with 37* off 27 balls with 5 fours, while Shreyas Iyer took on the Windies bowlers. In the end, Iyer finished on 102* off 43 balls with 10 fours and 6 sixes, with a strike rate of 237.20.
India won the match by 8 wickets and went 1-0 up in the five-match T20I series. Shreyas Iyer was named Player of the Series after becoming the third Indian captain to hit a T20I century and the seventh Indian overall to score a century in all three international formats.
Meanwhile, his mother, Rohini, and sister, Shresta, were over the moon as Shreyas Iyer hit Roston Chase for a huge six, completed his century, and took India to victory on TV at home. Shreyas’ mother and sister were seen rejoicing at Iyer’s achievement.
