India and the West Indies will play on October 3 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, New Chandigarh, and India's batting coach, Sitanshu Kotak, confirmed that pacer Prasidh Krishna has suffered a hamstring strain.

There have been reports that Krishna might be ruled out of the upcoming third ODI, and young pacer Anshul Kamboj has been called up as Krishna’s replacement.

Kamboj was playing for India A in the ongoing second unofficial Test against Australia A in Puducherry and will reportedly leave the game midway to link up with the Men in Blue side.

“Kamboj was part of the India A XI for the second unofficial Test against Australia A in Puducherry, which began on September 30. He has now departed the squad, with Praful Hinge replacing him in the India A playing XI,” Sportstar report stated.

Kamboj was the one who managed to get three wickets for 34 runs in the first innings. But after delivering only two overs before lunch on Thursday, he left the ground and joined the team bus.

Anshul Kamboj made his India Test debut on the England tour last year, but is yet to make his white-ball debut for India.

While India has already won the ODI series against the West Indies 2-0, the last and third game of the series will be played on 3rd October at New Chandigarh.
