Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 175 before he was run-out.
Yashasvi Jaiswal starred with the bat for India in the first innings of the ongoing second Test against the West Indies at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi
The left-handed opener slammed 175 runs from 258 balls, with the help of 22 fours. He smacked the Caribbean bowlers to all parts of the Feroz Shah Kotla ground on Day 1 and set the foundation of a big total for the hosts.
In fact, Jaiswal was looking set for a big double hundred on Day 2 of the Delhi Test but it was not to be as the southpaw was run out after he was involved in a horrible mix-up with captain Shubman Gill.
For his stunning display with the bat, the 23-year-old also received big praise from the legendary Brian Lara.
In a video shared by BCCI’s official Instagram handle on Sunday (October 12) morning, Lara congratulated Jaiswal by hugging him and then made a special request to him by saying, “Don’t beat our bowlers that bad."

Yashasvi Jaiswal was absolutely dejected by his run-out dismissal in Delhi Test. In fact, he had a heated argument with Gill before leaving the field.
After the close of play on Day 2, Jaiswal was asked about the heartbreaking end to his innings. The youngster played down the incident, saying such things can happen in sport.
“I always try to play as long as I can. If I'm there, I should just take the game forward and play as long as I can. It's (his run-out) part of the game, so it's fine. There is always a thought that what I can achieve and what can be my goal and my team's goal, I just try and be in the game and make sure if I'm in, I should take it long. I was trying to get in, so there was a bit of movement, but when I was in the middle, I was thinking that maybe I'll bat for one hour and then it will be easy for me to score. The wicket is still pretty good, we are bowling very well, we will be seeing as quickly as we can get to them and get them again,” said Jaiswal while speaking to the host broadcaster.
Coming to the match, Shubman Gill overcame the disappointment of Yashasvi Jaiswal's run-out to pile on the runs for India. The hosts declared their first innings at 518/5, with Gill remaining unbeaten on 129 runs for his highest Test score at home.
At stumps, West Indies reached the score of 140/4, still trailing by 378 runs. Ravindra Jadeja was the pick of the Indian bowlers, claiming three wickets by conceding 37 runs in his 14 overs.
