Jasprit Bumrah has taken 2 wickets in two T20Is in the ongoing series against South Africa.
Bumrah was not at his best in the tournament, bowling full tosses and not nailing his yorkers right. He did pick up seven wickets in the tournament at an economy of 7.43 and an average of 19.28.
Now in the ongoing South Africa T20Is, Bumrah has taken two wickets in two games with an economy of 8.85. However, the focus was on Bumrah not bowling his trademark yorkers properly.
Now, as per the Times of India report, on Saturday evening, Bumrah arrived at the HPCA stadium, set up his own practice nets on the center square, and went through a rigorous bowling session, focused primarily on getting the yorker straight.
He did not bowl to any of the batters. It was only Bumrah, a camera placed right next to where an umpire would stand, a pair of boots and cones on either side of the crease at the opposite end, stumps, and bowling coach Morne Morkel.
He bowled full throttle for around forty-five minutes. It was a solo performance that would serve as a master class in yorker technique. When someone first starts bowling yorkers, they typically perform these drills. He has essentially started over from scratch, the report added.
Jasprit Bumrah had made his India debut in 2016, and his IPL debut had come in 2013, and since he first burst onto the cricketing scene, Bumrah and his yorkers have been widely praised. However, in the past few matches, since his T20I return, opponent batters have chosen to play Bumrah out more cautiously, preserving wickets to target the other bowlers.
By his own high standards, Bumrah would be aware that his impact hasn't been as steady as it once was. Regardless of the circumstances, he must have been agitated by the attack on him by the South African batters two days prior.
