Ishan Kishan put on a show with the bat in the fifth and final T20I between India and New Zealand at Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday (January 31).
The southpaw walked out to bat in the third over after the dismissal of Sanju Samson and launched a brutal attack on the Kiwi bowlers right from the outset.
Kishan reached his half-century in 28 balls and took another 14 balls to notch up his maiden T20I hundred. He was dismissed by Jacob Duffy in the 18th over for 103 off 43 balls, including 6 fours and 10 sixes.
During his whirlwind knock, Ishan was involved in a 137-run partnership for the third wicket with skipper Suryakumar Yadav, who scored 63 off 30 balls with 4 fours and 6 sixes.
All-rounder Hardik Pandya provided the finishing touch to the innings, smashing 42 off 17 balls (1 four and 4 sixes) to propel the hosts to a gigantic 271/5 in 20 overs.
