Devon Conway was dismissed for the fifth time by Harshit Rana on this tour.
India made two changes as Ravi Bishnoi came in for Varun Chakaravarthy and Jasprit Bumrah replaced Arshdeep Singh.
Harshit Rana bowled the first over for India and had Devon Conway facing him. Rana has had Conway’s number on this tour, having dismissed him three times in the three ODIs before this series, and also got him out in the first two T20Is.
On the third ball, Conway decided to break through and charged at Harshit Rana. The ball was bowled short, and Conway tried to hit over the mid-off fielder, but the ball was a mishit as the bat turned in his hand.
The ball was traveling over the head of Hardik Pandya at mid-off, but the all-rounder jumped in the air at the right time and caught the ball in both hands, before tumbling on the ground. Conway was out for one run in two balls.

It was not a good start for New Zealand as Rachin Ravindra was out for four runs, getting caught by Ravi Bishnoi off Hardik Pandya, and Jasprit Bumrah clean bowled Tim Seifert for 12 runs.
