India has won the series after winning the first 3 T20Is, with two more games to go.
India made two changes as Ravi Bishnoi came in for Varun Chakaravarthy and Jasprit Bumrah replaced Arshdeep Singh.
New Zealand's top order faltered against disciplined Indian bowling, with Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra falling for single-digit scores. Glenn Phillips top-scored with 48, Mark Chapman made 32, and Mitchell Santner finished well with 27 in 17 balls as New Zealand did well to make 153/9 in 20 overs.
Jasprit Bumrah was the star with 3/17, while Ravi Bishnoi, on his India comeback, picked 2/18, and Hardik Pandya also picked two wickets.
Sanju Samson’s poor form continued as Matt Henry clean bowled him on the very first ball of India’s innings. But then Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma added 53 runs for the second wicket in just 19 balls. Kishan hammered 28 in just 13 balls before being dismissed by Ish Sodhi.
Suryakumar Yadav joined the rampaging Abhishek Sharma, and the duo added an unbeaten 102 runs for the third wicket. Abhishek Sharma reached his fifty in a record 14 balls and made 68* in 20 balls with 7 fours and 5 sixes.
Suryakumar Yadav continued his good form, hammering 57* in 26 balls with 6 fours and 3 sixes as India chased down a 154-run target in 10 overs. India won the game by 8 wickets in dominating fashion and also pocketed the series, having won the first three T20Is.
The cricket fraternity was left stunned at the Indian batters’ brutal hitting and praised them on social media.
