IND v NZ 2026: WATCH- Virat Kohli lauds Mitchell for his ton; playfully pushes him to pavilion

Daryl Mitchell hit his fourth ODI century against India.

India and New Zealand faced off in the third and final ODI of the series on January 18, 2026. The match is being played at the Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore, with the series level at 1-1.

Shubman Gill, the India captain, won the toss and chose to field first. India made one change, with Arshdeep Singh coming in for Prasidh Krishna.

Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh sent back both the openers for five runs on the board, with Devon Conway getting out for a golden duck. Will Young and Daryl Mitchell steadied the ship with a 53-run partnership for the third wicket.

However, the partnership of the New Zealand innings came between Mitchell and Glenn Phillips. They added 221 runs for the fourth wicket. Glenn Phillips made his second ODI century, scoring 106 runs in 88 balls with 9 fours and 3 sixes to his name.

But the best knock came from Mitchell, who, after scoring 84 and 131* in the first two matches, hammered his best score in ODIs, scoring 137 in 131 balls with 15 fours and 3 sixes. Mitchell was caught by Kuldeep Yadav, as the batter tried to smack a short ball from Mohammed Siraj in the 45th over.

As Mitchell made his way to the pavilion, he walked past Virat Kohli, who was stationed at the boundary. Kohli was seen clapping for Mitchell and then playfully pushed him past the boundary towards the pavilion.
