Young India keeper-batter Dhruv Jurel played an amazing knock of 90 in his team’s first innings in the ongoing 4th Test against England. This match is being played in Ranchi’s JSCA Stadium and saw England posting 353 runs in their first innings.

Meanwhile, in response, India was reduced to 177/7 after which Jurel and Kuldeep Yadav (28) added 76 runs for the 8th wicket to take India to 307 runs in the end. Jurel ended up with the score of 90 runs with 6 fours and 4 sixes in his knock.

Playing only his second Test match, the 23-year-old Jurel showed great maturity to propel India to a brilliant total which reduced to deficit to just 46 runs. That knock saw him switch gears from defense to attack with ease and marshal the tail as well.

This was the first half-century of Jurel's international career after being dismissed for 46 in his maiden international innings in Rajkot. And he celebrated his maiden Test fifty with a special 'salute gesture', that went viral all-over social media.

For those unaware, the 23-year-old is the son of a Kargil War veteran. Jurel's father was a havaldar in the Indian army. He earned his maiden India call-up as an understudy to KS Bharat, while Rishabh Pant continues his preparation for return to competitive cricket.
