Shubman Gill admitted that the entire Indian cricket team is missing the legendary MS Dhoni as they prepare for the fourth Test against England at the Jharkhand Cricket Association Stadium in Ranchi.
Dhoni, renowned as one of the greatest captains in international cricket history, won all major ICC trophies for India as captain, including the 2007 T20 World Cup, the 2011 ODI World Cup, and the 2013 Champions Trophy. He retired from international cricket in 2020.
Well, Dhoni's legacy and name resurface prominently presently as Team India prepares to face England in his hometown of Ranchi in the fourth Test, starting on February 23. It is being said that Dhoni is likely to pay a visit to the Indian dressing room during the Ranchi Test.
Addressing the media during a pre-match press conference in Ranchi, Gill highlighted the Indian team's collective sentiment, stressing that the team feels Dhoni's absence profoundly, whether they play in his hometown or any other venue.
Shubman Gill told reporters: “The entire India misses Mahi bhai. It does not matter where we play, in Ranchi or anywhere in the world. The whole of India misses Mahi bhai a lot.”
