Yashasvi Jaiswal smashed 12 sixes in the second innings of the Rajkot Test.
Young Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal recently equaled the legendary Pakistani fast-bowler Wasim Akram’s record of hitting the most sixes in an innings in a Test.
Jaiswal achieved the milestone during the third Test between India and England in Rajkot, where the 22-year-old opener played a mind-blowing knock of unbeaten 214 runs to help the hosts record a massive win of 434 runs.
During the course of his record-breaking innings, the left-handed batter smashed 12 sixes in the second innings of the Rajkot Test, equaling Akram’s record of hitting the most sixes in an innings in Test cricket.

Now, the former Pakistan captain recalled his knock in the 1996 Sheikhupura Test against Zimbabwe and said that batting on track wasn't easy. Notably, Akram had scored 257* runs, but the match ended in a draw against Zimbabwe.
Wasim Akram said on A Sports: “My record (most sixes in an inning) wasn't broken, it's been equaled by Yashasvi Jaiswal. People talk a lot that it was Zimbabwe, but it wasn't that easy. I remember we were around 170/6 when I went to bat.”
Notably, Jaiswal is currently the leading run scorer in the ongoing five-match Test series against England. The youngster amassed 545 runs in three Tests at a remarkable average of 101.
