The two batters took the attack to England bowlers in post lunch session.
India had resumed on day 4 with Shubman Gill and Kuldeep Yadav at the crease. However, a mix-up between the two overnight batters led to Gill getting run out for 91 runs. Kuldeep Yadav then followed soon for a well-made 27 runs.
This brought Yashasvi Jaiswal back to the crease to resume his knock after he had retired hurt on day 3 due to a back issue. And he took to the England bowlers from the start.
The two Mumbai batters, Jaiswal and Sarfaraz reached the 100-run partnership in just 88 balls, giving the Indian team a huge advantage as their lead swelled towards the 500-run mark.
This led to Suryakumar Yadav, another Mumbai stalwart in awe of Jaiswal and Sarfaraz’s batting and couldn’t help but laud the duo on social media.
“So good to see them Bat together for India, What a Story,” Suryakumar Yadav posted on X.
Mumbai Indians shared Suryakumar Yadav’s story he posted on his Instagram, which read: “From maidans of Mumbai to batting together for India, what a story.”
