Jadeja was ruled out of the second Test in Vizag due to hamstring injury.
He was then ruled out of the upcoming second Test in Visakhapatnam and was instructed to go to the NCA for treatment and rehab.
Apart from Jadeja, KL Rahul was also ruled out of the second Test due to a quadriceps injury. Virat Kohli had already pulled out of the first two Tests for personal reasons, leaving India with Rohit Sharma as the most experienced batter in the lineup.
"Jadeja sustained a hamstring injury during play on Day 4 of the first Test in Hyderabad while Rahul complained of a right quadriceps pain. The BCCI Medical Team is monitoring the progress of the duo," read the BCCI statement.
Jadeja is a flexible left-handed batsman who has significantly improved into a proficient Test-match star performer over the last six years, as well as a savvy left-arm spinner and a dynamic fielder whose efforts have regularly been critical in deciding match outcomes.
Therefore, India will miss him the most and hope that he recovers in time for the third Test match in his home ground in Rajkot.
Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja shared a video of himself doing a running drill in NCA. He didn’t look in discomfort as he jogged from one point to another and continued the process.
