England Test team head coach Brendon McCullum opened up about the original concept behind the aggressive playing style known as 'Bazball,' named after his nickname, ahead of the Test series in India.

England’s new aggressive approach has brought success to the side in Test cricket; however, sometimes the result didn’t go their way, but it became a much-talked-about style in the world.

As the Ben Stokes-led England cricket team prepares for the challenging five-match Test series against India, McCullum expects a massive crowd and tough conditions in the upcoming matches, as he is hoping for real entertainment on the tour.

As reported by FirstCricket, Brendon McCullum said in Hyderabad: “When we started out on this journey a fair while ago we wanted to provide as much entertainment as we possibly can. We felt that gave us the best chance as well. What better stage to do it on – against India, in India?”

The England coach further noted, “There’ll be many eyeballs watching around the world and it’s a huge opportunity for us. India is the land of opportunity, and that’s what sits in front of us now. That’s the exciting thing. How long the games go, I’ve no idea.

But I’m sure both teams will stick to their respective styles. Throughout the Ashes, it was two heavyweights going at it with different styles, and I expect it to be the same in this series.”

Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium will be hosting the Test series opener from January 25 and McCullum said that the spin will play a role in the match.

He signed off by saying, “It looked good. It looks like it’s going to spin.”
