Team India’s leading pacer, Jasprit Bumrah, expressed his eagerness for the challenge of facing England's much-hyped 'Bazball' in the upcoming five-match Test series at home.

Under the leadership of captain Ben Stokes and head coach Brendon McCullum, the England cricket team has adopted a different approach, and they have been dominant so far in Test cricket.

The transformation in England's Test team is attributed to the influence of McCullum, who took over from Chris Silverwood in 2022.

Well, ahead of the opening Test against England on January 25 in Hyderabad, Bumrah stressed that if England opts for Bazball and plays aggressively, it provides him with the opportunity to take 'heaps of wickets' in the home conditions.

Jasprit Bumrah was quoted as saying in an interview with The Guardian: “I don’t really relate to the term Bazball. But they are playing successful cricket and the aggressive route of taking the opposition on, showing the world there’s another way to play Test cricket.”

Bumrah added, “As a bowler, what I think is that it keeps me in play. And if they’re going for it, playing so fast, they won’t tire me out, I could get heaps [of wickets]. I always think about how I can use things to my advantage. Kudos to them but, as a bowler, you’re in the game.”

Notably, Bumrah recently played in the two-match Test series against South Africa, where he scalped 12 wickets at an economy rate of 3.19 to help India level the series 1-1.
