IND v WI 2018: Virat Kohli achieves yet another milestone in ODI cricket

Virat Kohli amassed 453 runs in the 5-match series against Windies.

Virat Kohli, Captain of the Indian Cricket Team, has achieved another milestone in the game of cricket after India outclassed West Indies by 9-wickets in the fifth and final One Day International in Trivandraum to seal the series 3-1 with the one match ended in a tie.

On Thursday (November 1), the dashing right-hander was declared Man of the Series for the record seventh time in the white-ball cricket for his stellar show with the willow in the series and with the latest laurel, Kohli joined the elite list of players who have the number of MOS awards to their bags.

The elite list comprising with the cricketing greats likes Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Viv Richards, Ricky Ponting, Hashim Amla and all-rounder Yuvraj Singh.

The batting maestro Tendulkar topped the elite list, while Kohli equaled the record held by Ganguly and Yuvraj with 7 Man of the Series awards. Now, the 29-year-old is only behind Tendulkar, Sanath Jayasuriya and Shaun Pollock with 15, 11 and 9 Man of the Series awards respectively.

The Indian skipper was awarded the Man of the Series for his incredible show with the bat against the West Indies in the 5-match ODI series, as he finished as the highest run-getter with astounding 453 runs.

Noteworthy, India and West Indies will now play three T20I series which will get underway with the first match on Sunday (November 4) at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
