India to play three Tests against South Africa starting from October 2nd.
The BCCI selection committee named the squad for the Test series and most of the players from the victorious West Indies Test series were retained. Virat Kohli will lead the side with Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Hanuma Vihari, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, R Ashwin, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ishant Sharma to face the South African team, who will be missing the likes AB de Villiers, Dale Steyn or Hashim Amla from the previous tour.
Shubman Gill was the only new name in the squad, who was chosen in place of KL Rahul, who was finally dropped from the squad after a long string of poor scores. Rohit Sharma is also named in the squad which is similar to that of the team which won 2-0 against the West Indies recently. Rishabh Pant and Wriddhiman Saha were both named in the squad as well.
